Author Guidelines

Authors submitting articles to the Journal of Sport Education and Technology are required to adhere to the established writing guidelines. These guidelines are designed to maintain format uniformity, article quality, and a smooth editorial process. Articles that do not meet these guidelines may be returned for revision or rejected before proceeding to the review process.

1. General Requirements

Submitted articles must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript is the result of research, scientific studies, or innovations related to sports education and technology.
  • The article has not been previously published and is not currently being submitted to another journal.
  • The manuscript is original work and free from plagiarism.
  • The article is written in good and correct Indonesian or English.
  • Authors must follow the specified journal format and template.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system on the journal website.

2. Focus and Scope

Submitted articles must be within the scope of the Journal of Sport Education and Technology, including:

  • Physical education and sport
  • Sport education technology
  • Digital-based learning media
  • E-learning in sport education
  • Sport learning innovation
  • Sport coaching science
  • Physical activity and health
  • Fitness technology
  • Sport application development
  • Sport performance support technology

Articles outside the scope of the journal may be rejected during the initial review stage.

3. Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should be written using the following guidelines:

  • A4 paper
  • Top margin: 3 cm
  • Bottom margin: 3 cm
  • Left margin: 3 cm
  • Right margin: 3 cm
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 12 pt
  • Spacing: 1.5
  • Paragraphs justified

Articles should be approximately 5,000–8,000 words long, including tables, figures, and references.

4. Article Structure

Research articles should be structured according to the following structure:

Title

The article title should be concise, clear, informative, and reflect the content of the research. The recommended title length is no more than 15–20 words.

Author Information

Author identification consists of:

  • Author's full name
  • Institution or affiliation
  • Country
  • Author's email address
  • Corresponding author
  • Abstract

The abstract is written in one paragraph in Indonesian and English.

The abstract contains:

  • Research background
  • Research objectives
  • Research methods
  • Research results
  • Conclusion

The abstract should be approximately 150–250 words.

Keywords

Keywords consist of 3–5 words or phrases that represent the content of the article. Introduction

The introduction contains:

  • Research background
  • Research problem
  • Review of previous research
  • Research gap
  • Research objectives
  • Methods

The research methods explain:

  • Type of research
  • Research approach
  • Population and sample
  • Data collection techniques
  • Research instruments
  • Data analysis techniques

The methods must be written clearly so that the research can be understood and replicated.

Results and Discussion

The results and discussion section contains:

  • Research results
  • Presentation of tables and figures
  • Analysis of results
  • Interpretation of data
  • Relationship of results to theory and previous research

Conclusion

The conclusion contains answers to the research objectives and main findings.

The conclusion should not simply repeat the discussion.

Acknowledgements

This section is optional and is used to express appreciation to those who assisted in the research.

References

The bibliography only includes sources cited in the article..

5. Citation and References Style

Citations and bibliographies should be written in APA Style (7th Edition).

Authors are advised to use reference management applications such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

Most references are recommended to come from scientific journals within the last 5–10 years.

Example:

Journal article:

Last name, A.A. (Year). Article title. Journal name, Volume (Number), Pages.

Book:

Last name, A.A. (Year). Book title. Publisher..

6. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must:

  • Be numbered consecutively
  • Have a clear title
  • Be mentioned in the article body
  • Be of good quality and legible

Figures must have adequate resolution.

Article submission steps:

  • Authors create an account on the journal system
  • Log in to the journal system
  • Select the new submission menu
  • Fill in article metadata
  • Upload the manuscript according to the template
  • Upload supporting documents if required
  • Submit the article

Authors will receive a notification once the article is successfully submitted.

Authors must adhere to journal publication ethics, including:
