PUBLICATION PROCESS
Every article submitted to the Journal of Sport Education and Technology will go through a multi-stage publication process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope. This process is carried out systematically, objectively, and transparently.
1. Submission Manuscript
Authors submit manuscripts through the online submission system on the Journal of Sport Education and Technology website. Submitted articles must adhere to the author guidelines and established journal template.
At this stage, authors must ensure that:
- Artikel merupakan karya asli dan belum pernah dipublikasikan.
- Artikel tidak sedang dalam proses penilaian pada jurnal lain.
- Format penulisan telah sesuai dengan ketentuan jurnal.
- Seluruh data penulis dan afiliasi ditulis dengan lengkap.
- Referensi dan sitasi telah disusun dengan benar.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
After a manuscript is received, the editor conducts an initial screening to assess the article's suitability for the journal's focus and scope.
The initial screening includes:
- Relevance of the article's theme to the journal's scope
- Completeness of the article's structure
- Quality of academic writing
- Appropriateness of format and template
- Review of publication ethics
The editor reserves the right to reject an article at the initial stage if it does not comply with the journal's guidelines.
3. Plagiarism Checking
Each manuscript will be checked for plagiarism using similarity checking software.
The check is conducted to identify:
- Direct plagiarism
- Self-plagiarism
- Duplicate publications
- Use of sources without proper citation
Articles with a level of similarity exceeding the journal's policy limits may be returned for revision or rejected.
4. Peer Review Process
Articles that pass the initial stage will proceed to the peer review process. The Journal of Sport Education and Technology implements a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to maintain the objectivity of the assessment process.
Articles will be reviewed by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant research field.
Reviewers assess several aspects:
- Novelty of the research
- Clarity of the research objectives
- Appropriateness of the research methods
- Quality of data analysis
- Relevance of results and discussion
- Contribution to the development of sport science and technology
- Completeness of references
5. Editorial Decision
Based on the review results, the editor will make a decision on the manuscript according to the following categories:
- Accepted: The article is accepted without revision
- Minor Revision: The article requires minor improvements
- Major Revision: The article requires substantial revision
- Rejected: The article is rejected
- The editor's decision is communicated to the author through the journal's system.
6. Revision Process
Jika If an article requires revision, the author is required to revise the manuscript based on the reviewer's and editor's comments.
Authors are required to:
- Make thorough revisions
- Respond to each reviewer's comment
- Resubmit the revised article by the specified deadline
If revisions are not submitted within the specified time, the article may be considered withdrawn from the publication process
7. Final Acceptance
Once the revisions are deemed to meet journal standards, the editor will make a final decision on whether the article is accepted for publication.
At this stage, a final check is made for:
- Completeness of the article data
- Manuscript format
- Grammar
- Consistency of citations and bibliography
8. Copyediting and Layout Editing
Accepted articles will undergo copyediting and layout editing.
This stage aims to:
- Correct grammatical and spelling errors
- Adjust the format to journal standards
- Prepare the final appearance of the article
9. Proofreading
The final version of the article will be sent to the author for final proofreading. The author can check for minor errors before publishing.
Major substantive changes are not permitted at this stage.
Publication
Articles that have passed all stages will be published in the Journal of Sport Education and Technology issue according to the journal's publication schedule.
Published articles will be available online and accessible according to journal policy.
The entire publication process is conducted based on the principles of quality, transparency, scientific integrity, and academic publication ethics.
